Meet Amanda
Our Work together
Therapy is a way of connecting to yourself and exploring your challenges in a safe and collaborative way. I understand the bravery it takes to show up in your vulnerability and I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space that cultivates courage over comfort in our work. I am trained as a trauma-informed, somatic psychotherapist, with a masters degree in counseling psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
As a somatic psychotherapist, I like to offer a space for the body and mind to connect. My work is also influenced by humanistic, relational, and psychodynamic modalities tailored to support your unique individual needs. My client-centered approach incorporates the whole being into session and I believe that you hold the innate wisdom to grow and heal yourself. My counseling style is collaborative, intuitive, strength-based and you may find me astute, curious, creative, humorous, flexible, and warm. I strive to possess cultural humility and understand the importance of our marginalized identities being seen and acknowledged in therapy.
I am also a certified yoga teacher, teen mentor, community mental health professional, school counselor, and returned Peace Corps Volunteer. My passion for therapy stems from a lifelong draw to nature, exploring, movement, and connection.
